Saying Goodbye to Stargate Atlantis Episodes

I am getting ready….

A poem…

Farewell Atlantis

Farewell weekly Stargate  Atlantis

I will always remember the good times

The Friday nights when my face lit up with boyish jubilance

What a great hour

What a great show

I feel an emotional intimacy with great characters

Every week I waited for those Fridays

January ninth will mark your final Friday

When will I see you again

Teyla

Ronon

Rodney

McKay

Keller

Sheppard

Lorne

Pegasus

And you to Woolsey

I do not know

I hope soon

Why Atlantis needs to stay…. and a McKeller fest

There are two more episodes of Atlantis left and I am not ready for the show to go-I’m grateful for the dvd movie(hopefully plural) but it has so much more potential for episodes- and the fans would enjoy that more- I know that Sci-Fi has picked up Stargate Universe but why let Atlantis go, let ECW or your crappy reality shows go- not Atlantis!

Time for McKeller fest….

I’ve never been a “shipper”( look here—> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shipping_(fandom)  ) , until now! The more I see of Keller/McKay the more I want it to succeed. I defend it on GateWorld message boards:

Opposites attract

Mckay’s neurotic-ism and social immaturity is kept in check by Keller and I think Keller understands his behaviors and Mckay has shown courage for her- there is no stronger statement than when a man alters positively his behavior for a woman…. They’re both in the same work environment/ job and undergo the same stresses, is that not a commonality?

*Ducking from the message board shots*

——-

So I want more McKeller, I identify with McKay, and the idea that he can get with Keller is encouraging.

More McKeller!

Stargate Atlantis cancelled for season 6(in a way) Argh!!!!!!

“The SCI FI Channel is calling it quits with Stargate Atlantis — or
at least in its current format — the network confirmed in a press
release today. The spin-off series will conclude in January with the
current, fifth season, and will be followed with a 2-hour Atlantis
movie (story).

Despite the cancellation, series creator Brad Wright tells GateWorld
that, looking ahead, the Stargate franchise is as strong as it has
ever been.

SCI FI will have the exclusive worldwide television premiere of the
movie, which MGM will subsequently release on DVD. The movie does not
yet have a title.

Joseph Mallozzi and Paul Mullie, executive producers and showrunners
on Atlantis for its final two seasons, will pen the film.

“We’re excited to tell Atlantis stories on a bigger canvas,” series
creators Brad Wright and Robert C. Cooper said. “The successes of the
two original Stargate DTV movies The Ark of Truth and Continuum have
shown us the opportunities that the movie format offers. We have plans
for both SG-1 and Atlantis to remain vital as we expand the
franchise.”

“We share in the producers’ enthusiasm to move forward in this
direction and we look forward to a strong and continued relationship
on Stargate Atlantis in this new format,” said Thomas Vitale, SCI FI’s
Senior Vice President Programming & Original Movies.

“Enemy At the Gate” will be the 100th and final episode of the series,
and will air in January.

“One hundred episodes is the goal of every writer-producer,” Wright
told GateWorld exclusively. “To have achieved that with a spin-off
series is amazing. And like SG-1, I don’t feel as though anything is
coming to an end with Atlantis — it’s just evolving. Ark of Truth and
Continuum were hugely satisfying creatively for everyone involved
precisely because they were movies, and we have no intention of
stopping there.”…………..”

Yet again fans are treated like chopped liver by Sci-Fi
bureaucrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would rather have episodes every week darn it!

Atlantis will lose its “casual” viewers.

Stargate Fan Pet Peeve

I hate it when Stargate fans irreverently attack the episodes or the movies. Stargate Continuum came out Tuesday and on message boards I have seen attacks. I know that with anything there are going to be people that don’t like it, but as fans I don’t think it is right to call it “a piece of crap” or similar phrases that convey sheer suckdom…. I will show you something, this is a post I wrote (agentCarterfanboy) in a thread I started after Stargate: The Ark of Truth was released, on the GateWorld forum. The thread was called “please don’t bash ark of truth”.

please don’t bash Ark of Truth

“It was better than the episodes, the special effects and picture quality are great! The story was engaging, yes there were plotholes and things that could have been more explained like the “truth” in the ark. The BB scene was a bit long…. but hey, Its still Stargate. As fans we should support it, when we’re devoted to something we shouldn’t toss it aside if it is having a bad day. If we weren’t impressed we should still buy it in the hope that MGM makes more and better ones. Sure some seasons aren’t to everyones liking, but don’t forget that TPTB brought us many great seasons, this why I don’t think its fair to call it a piece of “crap” or a “rip-off” as I’ve seen. I enjoyed watching all of them, including the movie.”That’s it in a nutshell. Interestingly, it got locked.

Do you feel as I do about your shows?

Atlantis: “The Seed”

Here is a bit of a recap of tonight’s  “Stargate: Atlantis” episode, “The Seed”. OK, here goes:

1. Woolsey is beamed to Atlantis via the Daedulus.

2. He arrives and acts like he is not sure what to say.

3. He and the team go into the briefing room.

4. It is decided that until there is evidence of Michael’s whereabouts, finding him will not be top priority.

5. At night Doctor Keller noticing some kind of white webby substance on her hand and washes it off.

6. Carson is brought out of stasis because Keller developed a drug to help him recover.

He[CARSON] has to go to Earth, he is not cleared for duty.

7. Doctor Keller gets some much needed rest.

8. In the morning she does not rise and the team sees she is somewhat engulfed in reddish tendrill like substance.

9. Carson saw this in Michaels experiments- he stays to help.

10. After much Deliberation and work, a virus is created which with help of Rodney and Ronan was injected to Keller killing the stuff on her, thereby rendering the rest engulfing the base useless.

SGA update

I’m here for more Atlantis commentary! Exciting (maybe)! Stargate: Atlantis with its season five premiere last Friday has been off to a nice run! I hope the success remains. Woolsey’s reign commences with this Friday’s episode. Will it be one of terror, of jerk-dom? Will it be a success, or will he make decisions without the influence of emotion? How will our heroes and heroines react to his leadership? What prophecies will Teyla’s baby bring? What does this all mean? What does the future hold?….. What of Teyla’s people?…. Tune in this Friday after Doctor Who, start time is  Ten PM!

Reflecting on the Atlantis Season 5 Premiere

Atlantis, you did not disappoint!

Highlights:

1. Good drama when team members were captive in the deep rubble of the compound.

2. Nice trick up at the very beginning showing Shepherd’s dream which we were not told was a dream until the dream’s conclusion.

3. Shepherd accompanying the team to save Teyla when he was severely hurt- his austerity and respect with Carter asserting he was going to do such a brave act.

4. The way they got on board the cruiser(hanger bay door had to be oppenned to fire a dart at the pegasus- allowing Shep. and rest to get in)

5. McKay delivered Teyla’s baby while he was sweting like a dog from fear and anxiousness!

———————

Carter’s departure sucked, but Tapping has to focus on her new series Sanctuary- which was in the form of webisodes(online)…. Sci-Fi channel has picked it up… Lookout for it in early October!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stargate: Atlantis returns July 11!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Season 5!!!!!!!!!!

I’m interested to see how season 5 of Atlantis plays out. It should be interesting largely due to to the fact that Woolsey will take command. He’ll be a jerk but to his defense he has had redeeming moments. I can’t wait, I’ll admit this: I do need to watch the season 4 finale to get refreshed and get my memory jogging, July 11 10PM EST!!!!

Why is Woolsey Going to lead Atlantis

It has been announced that Richard Woolsey will replace the character Samantha Carter as leader of Atlantis in season 5. This for me was a shock as for many Stargate Atlantis fans. Woolsey has been an annoying character, often was politically allied against the leadership of Stargate command back on earth. He has started to sympathize with them but still of all the possibilities why pick Woolsey!

I believe part of the reason Tapping/Carter had to leave is b/c her online series is being pick up by Sci-fi.

Personally, I think Walter Harriman/Gary Jones would’ve even been a better choice than Woolsey. Why not Daniel, why not Jack, why not Shepherd?

Stargate Atlantis- "Spoils Of War"

With the replicators out of there way at least for a while, the Atlantis crew found one of the Wraith ships from the battle with the Replicators. They went to investigate the damage, they found the ship of their Wraith buddy that helped to form the alliance between the Wraith and Atlantis. Later in the episode, the team decides to refer to this Wraith as “Todd”. It becomes apparent that “Todd” had been captured by other Wraith because Rodney found his tracking device on the ground. On the ship a map is found that leads to a Wraith sanctuary. It is decided that this should be checked out, the ship was damaged, the only person that could fly it was Teyla, because of the bit of Wraith DNA she possessed. She was, at the moment off of active duty because of her pregnancy, however, she was needed. Shepherd went to Atlantis and got her… When they reached the destination Teyla stayed on the ship with Major Lorne. The rest of the team went to explore… They found Todd about to be taken from his cell by gaurds, they were shot and Todd was rescued. He was Coerced to answer questions and it is learned another words that this place is a cloning
facility… Eventually the team becomes captured and Todd manages to escape. Teyla and Lorne come in contact with Todd who says they must leave because a Wraith ship is coming, Todd also informed Teyla and Lorne that the team was captured, Hence they refuse to leave. Teyla begins to control the mind of the Wraith queen(leaving her unborn baby at risk b/c the queen could get to it if Teyla lost concentration). As a result of her efforts, the team is released frpm the cell, and John shoots the queen just in time. Next Teyla was instructed to target the ship towards the sanctuary to destroy it, she does this then gets to the jumper with Lorne…

Not a bad episode.
