A slight Stargate Continuum Review(SPOILERS)
Watching Continuum a second time the other day made me like it even more. It was fun seeing Jack again. Baal’s execution(technically “extraction”) was where all the trouble began, Baal mentioned that the other Baals have set into motion a plan that screws the timeline so that the U.S. never gets its hands on the Stargate, from the execution site SG-1 starts to vanish because the timeline is fugged, meanwhile Jack stabs Baal and he dies leaving the viewer curious, but since we know it’s a timeline story, one can guess that he’ll be back. We go to 1929 aboard a ship captained by someone that looks like an older version of Mitchell, which we later learn is his grandfather. The Stargate is kept in a huge box like thing. Baal and the Jaffa come through and take over the ship….. SG-1(w/o Jack/Teal’c/Vala) ends up on that ship, and they’re struggling to get out and they’re confronted with miles of ice in the frozen artic, where Daniel was left behind because it was learned that he broke his leg…. Cam & Sam came across Jack, but he didn’t know who they were because of the fugged timeline…. They were brought in & Jack became testy because he didn’t know what was going on, I won’t say much else about the plot……
I liked seeing how Daniel, Sam, & Cam adjusted to new lives and other restrictions placed on them… the Director, whom I believe is Martin Wood made good usage of multiple fade in/fade out screens to show the characters’ adjustments and their individual debriefings…..
It was an enjoyable classic SG-1 story…. Something that would help all the movies is longer length.
